Well, Halloween has come and gone this year.  Even though this is most likely my favorite holiday of the year, I managed to allow it to totally slip by without doing all that much.  It is really disappointing.  Generally speaking, there are a number of things that must occur in order to me to consider a Halloween successful:

Horror Movies

I must watch horror movies and I mean lots and lots of them.  Of those watched, they have go to range from creepy / scary like the Grudge to the bloody / gory such as Saw, and, finally, outright funny such as Evil Dead.  The Horror Movie is a staple of every Halloween as they clearly set the  mood for the season.

Staple Cartoons

Every Halloween, at least 2 cartoons must be watched – The Garfield Halloween Special and It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.   These cartoons are a must because they have been a tradition since I have been a child.  Every year, Mom and Dad ensured that we sat down as a family and got to hear "Heeeeeeyyyyy,  Kiiidddddsss!" or witness the Beagle rising from the pumpkin patch.

Mischief

One of my favorite aspects of Halloween is getting into trouble (or some semblance thereof).  This can range from simple tricks instead of treats, trying to elaborately set up situations to freak people out, or, my personal favorite, rolling people’s yards.  Halloween is many things, but, more than anything else, it is a time to try to pull off your best pranks.

Dave lucked out this year as I was too busy to drive to his house on Halloween night.  Maybe next year… ;)   Also, I realize that Gabe has been in his house for around 2 or 3 years so far and has yet to be visited by the paper fairy…  hmm…

The Halloween Party

Of course, the most important part of any Halloween is getting together with your friends, dressing up like fools, and having a good time.  This year, we were able to have our party on the day after Halloween.

Some of our distinguished guests…

The party was a great success.  We were able to enjoy some of the staple events, such as the home-made yearly Halloween Movie, the blindfolded – strobe lighted piñata bash, and the viewing of the pumpkins.  In addition to this, we were able to enjoy a nice viewing of the My Little Ponies Movie, in which, an unnamed guest whispered to me, "For the love of God, please save me from this movie.  I am starting to like it?!?!?"

So, thanks to all those who attended the party.  We had a blast.  I am looking forward to next year!  For all the Halloween Party Pictures, feel free to visit my flickr photoset.

Happy Halloween!  Until next time…

P.S.  – I am considering posting the Halloween Videos after some HEAVY editing.  What do you all think?  Any interest?
